Notes.

• Hi folks. It’s been a busy few weeks for me. I’ve been building an office in my garage, and am doing the plastering/painting/flooring for it. I’ve got lots to learn there, but I’m really enjoying it. This will be the last edition of The REPL I’ll be sending for a month or so. My wife is having a baby sometime soon, and then I’ll be on paternity leave.

• The Onyx/Pyroclast team have a new project for processing event streams in development: Roaming, and they have a Clojure SDK for it.

• Speaking of re-frame, Rails Girls Summer of Code has sponsored two people to work on re-frame for the summer. Here’s their first progress report. I’m mentoring this project, and really looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Libraries & Books.

• Tony Kay is now working full-time on Fulcro, a web framework for Clojure. This is a fork of Untangled. If you’re using it professionally, there’s a Patreon, and other ways you can support it’s development.
• time.clj is a cross platform time utilities library

People are worried about Types. ?

• Spec Oracle
• Orchestra now supports ClojureScript
• Schpec has a defn macro for pattern matching on specs (I think that’s what it’s doing?)
• CLJS-2194: Spec metadata support

Foundations.

• Cursive 1.6.0 is out with some big improvements for test navigation
• Debux is a debugging/tracing library for Clojure and ClojureScript
• Christophe Grand has also a released a lower level tracing library poucet
• Source Map Explorer looks great for analysing your CLJS build size
• Martin Klepsch with good advice on pinning Maven Snapshots
• Lumo has hit 1.6.0
• Stuart Halloway on REPL driven development

Recent Developments.

• Clojure Android activity
• nothing? predicate in Clojure
• CLJS-2148: adds warnings for doing aget on non-arrays. This has been warned about for a long time, so it’s not a big surprise. It’s going to turn up a lot of problems for people, so library maintainers should start running this now so they can start fixing the warnings.

Learning.

• Notes porting Orchestra to ClojureScript

Misc.

• Muzzle turns on Do Not Disturb on your Mac when you’re screen-sharing, so that no (potentially embarrassing) notifications show up.
